
Gaming Corporations Are Silencing Player-First Solutions – Here’s the Proof

For years, the Path of Exile (PoE) community has been asking for a better trade system. Instead of listening to players, Grinding Gear Games (GGG) has ignored feedback and continued to force an inefficient system that benefits nobody except those who profit from artificial scarcity. When I posted a reasonable, player-first fix, not only was it removed—but I was also banned.
This isn’t just about a single game. This is proof that gaming corporations manipulate online discussions to control the narrative. Here’s exactly how it happened.
1. The Fix They Don’t Want You to See
The problem with PoE’s trade system is well-known. Instead of having an intuitive marketplace or auction house, the current system forces players into a frustrating, time-wasting, manual process. It actively drives players away and reduces engagement—meaning GGG is leaving money on the table.
That’s why I proposed a simple solution:
Let buyers send currency to the seller’s mailbox.
Automatically deliver the item to the buyer once the seller logs in.
Notify both players when the trade is complete.
This keeps the core economy intact while eliminating the unnecessary frustration that makes players quit.

2. Immediate Suppression & Censorship
Despite the fact that my post was gaining views and engagement, it was quickly removed without explanation. This was not an isolated incident—every attempt to discuss the fix was silenced, buried, or flagged.

This is not normal moderation. This is an intentional effort to control the conversation and suppress solutions that challenge their outdated business model.
3. The Ban: If You Criticize, You’re Out
Posting a reasonable fix wasn’t enough—they escalated by banning my account. My crime? Simply criticizing how the game intentionally keeps trade frustrating.

Their reasoning? Claiming I violated a "be kind and harassment" rule for pointing out that the game is monetized through player frustration. This is a classic corporate strategy—frame legitimate criticism as "harassment" to justify banning dissenters.
4. The Checkmate Moment: They Proved My Point
By suppressing my post and banning my account, GGG and Reddit proved the exact problem I was calling out. This isn’t about "toxicity" or "negativity"—this is about controlling discussion and eliminating player-driven solutions.

If a fix actually improves player experience and increases engagement, why censor it? The answer is clear: They don’t want a better system. They want a controlled one.
What This Means for Gaming
This isn’t just about Path of Exile. Gaming corporations are weaponizing online moderation to:
Silence discussions that threaten their revenue streams.
Block solutions that benefit players but reduce artificial monetization.
Manipulate the perception of community sentiment to avoid accountability.
This is why players feel unheard. This is why games keep getting worse despite clear solutions. Because the people in control aren’t interested in making things better—they’re interested in keeping their grip on the system.
